I have a 2013 bmw f31 320d. As far as I'm aware, I'm running the HU_ENTRY !NO NAV! CIC system. I believe this uses a 6 pin LVDS as opposed to the usual 4 pin of CIC? I have purchased an aftermarket android retrofit screen equipped with apple carplay/android auto youtube etc etc etc from a company who do installation. They offer an NBT screen and a CIC screen, so should I tell them I want an NBT or CIC screen given that my software is CIC but the hardware is NBT, 6 pin (I think)?

Thinking of going for NBT as how else would it physically connect? The place is an hour and a half away so I'm prepared to do 2 visits if it comes to it, but would prefer the one smile

Most retrofit places will ask for your VIN number to ensure they offer/install the correct system, but you may be better of asking on F30Post (https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/index.php?) as there's a dedicated section for this sort of query.

BTW, I'm looking to upgrade my 2016 LCI iDrive to something more modern (mainly because I was assured it had professional nav when I bought it, but later found out it doesn't). £1600 for 'refurbished' iDrive & screen is a bit OTT for me, but don't want to go for one of the random android systems I've seen as I've no idea how to compare the specs or what is 'good'!

I, too, didn't want to throw my money at a random system, so went for something from some guys called "Demonized UK" - based in Manchester. They seem good, but I will update you once the work is done if you wish! They may have something of your interest so give them a look online. driving

Thanks for the advice, I'll post the q on there.
