Hi guys back in Nov someone ran into the side of us in Spain damage was light but rendered the car undriveable back to Blighty BMW recovered the car and it went in for repair. Damage was to the front near side wheel, wing and the panel where the fog light sits.
You could still drive the car, which we did back from the accident to the Villa, while driving the steering wheel when going straight was at 25past instead of 30 minutes which suggested track rod end / steering rack.
My daughter telephoned them yesterday to see what the hold up was, as it should have come back Friday the 17th they said they are waiting for a new steering wheel. No airbags went off in the car. Anyone have a idea why it would need a new steering wheel wheel

You haven't said whether the car went for repair in Spain or whether it was recovered back to the UK for repair here. If in Spain, is it possible that "steering wheel" was mistranslated, or perhaps they meant "front driving wheel - the one that does the steering" but didn't know how? Not all Spaniards are great at English and not all English are great at Spanish! You could still drive the car, which we did back from the accident to the Villa, while driving the steering wheel when going straight was at 25past instead of 30 minutes which suggested track rod end / steering rack.
