Hi, can anyone help narrow down a problem I have.
Stragne starting problem happened recently. Turning on the car for the first time, the car fails to start. Its as if the computer is taking longer to boot and is not ready to start the car. The car is not properly cranking. It just makes an electrical motor noise, almost a pump noise. Once the Car goes "bling" which is warning me the read fog light is not working, then it car starts ok. Turn the car off, back on again, it starts strong and fine.

Go back 10 mins later, still ok, which leads me to think the computer is still running and is ok. Leave it to go cold and fully shut down it some times does it. I used to put my foot on the break, press start and it would just start.

I thought it could be a glow plug issue but the scan did not show anything like that or any starting problem.

Her is my video of the sound / issue I action.

Anyone seen this before?

Sounds like a starter motor not engaging correctly first time.

Update : yes was starter motor. What was odd is it would work no problem and have no signs of struggling and then other times it would just spin and make an odd noise. Anyway replaced and all good now
