E84 Z4 Coupe - Auto box not changing gear manually

I've got a problem with my Z4. It's driving fine but the manual gear selection isn't working using the paddles or the gearstick.

Is this a known issue? Is there anything I do/check?

There's no warning lights or beeps etc.

You need to get the codes read; it could be all sorts or it could simply need a service (filter and fresh oil)

BMW state sealed for life; ZF (who make the boxes) state 60-80k miles

Ideally find an indy autobox specialist local to you and ask them to look it over...

I'm in the Scottish Borders. Not many specialists of anything around here, except tractors!

If Preston's not too far for you; then Grant at Automatic Transmissions, Preston will soon have an idea of what's going on. He's been around since the dark ages and specialises in ZF stuff

I did a bit of googling. The paddles and stick both work when I'm driving above 65 as described here. I'm currently trying to find the fuse and relay for the fan which isn't as easy as you'd think.
