Hi all

My car is an E91 325i, N53 3.0 engine.

My NOx cat is dead despite efforts to revive it and I don’t want to fork out ££££ for a new one.

I wondered if anyone has had a good experience with (a) NOXEM; (b) coding out the NOx cat; or (c) something else.

Would love to hear from folks who have done a good few thousands of miles (ideally tens of thousands) with one of these “alternative” solutions.

Obviously a key requirement is being able to consistently run in stratified mode.

Cheers!

I got Noxem a couple of years and ~15k miles ago and it improved my mpg no end (e.g. 25 --> 38mpg on a long run). Fully functioning injectors are key though. I haven't had any NOx codes since, although it's still not running 100% smooth but haven't pinned down what's causing that. N53 life!

Thanks for this, really helpful. As far as I can tell from INPA, my injectors are functioning properly, even if they’ve passed 70k now. Obvs this won’t last forever/much longer…

I hope the injector gods look favourably upon you.

I wish there was an "EGREM" to trick the MAF into seeing EGR flow that isn't really there.
