Tyre Inflator Kit Question

I've recently discovered that the tyre inflator kit included in my used g21 330i appears to be missing a part - a yellow adaptor. However, as the kit doesn't match any bmw resources such as my manual or online videos it's very hard to tell. The closest thing I could find was what seems to be the same kit for a Mercedes. The part in question appears to be necessary to clip the canister onto the compressor.

I'm curious to understand what other people have in theirs (obvs g20/g21 would be ideal) and, if this is a known issue, where can I get the missing adaptor?

There are a few different BMW tyre mobility kits and the compressors and sealants aren't interchangeable. It looks like the sealant canister you have is for a different type of compressor.

e.g. your sealant type:

Maybe someone has used the sealant from your car and replaced with the wrong type of canister...or worse swapped your compressor for an old one.

I just checked and my 2019 F87 has your type of compressor but the correct sealant canister as per your Mercedes video link or similar to this (video shows a couple of the different types:

A replacement correct canister would probably be cheaper or (if you must use sealant) a £10 can of tyre weld from Halfords.

Brilliant, thanks! That makes a lot of sense that the canister is wrong for the compressor. I hadn't noticed that the canister 's slightly different in that Mercedes vid.

Any idea how I find out what the correct cablnister model is for the compressor?

Never heard of that tyreweld stuff. Just had a butchers on halfords and surely that stuff makes all the inflation kits redundant!?

These are crap, two o’ clock in the morning and you are going on holiday for an expensive cruise, puncture, AA arrive and charge you a fortune for replacement tyre.

These systems are to give good MPH as weight of vehicles are reduced by reducing the weight of a spare wheel and tyre, absolute nonsense.

The first thing I do when buying a new car is buy a second hand spare wheel and tyre
