Does anyone know of a BMW specialist who has the diagnostics to work on earlier versions of the e39 ?
I think I’ve spoken to all the garages who advertise as BMW specialists but the responses have been “we don’t have the diagnostics to work on those cars “. They’re not really specialists at all, just regular garages.
Surely a BMW Specialist should be able to work on the latest cars as well as cars from the 90s, 80s, 70s and 60s.

One of the BMW Specialists I spoke to, when I asked could they recommend someone, suggested Stanfield Garage on the outskirts of Bournemouth. I phoned them and they said they could so I’ve booked it in for two weeks time.
Does anyone here know anything about Stanfield Garage?

Can't help with your query for Dorset, but I can vouch for RBM in Hampshire. I've seen them work on all types of BMW when I've been. Well worth the trip up the M3. Hooks also on the railway line back to Southampton/Bournemouth/Weymouth too depending on where you are.
