had a ‘drivetrain warning’ light come up on my car yesterday, message says ‘check soon’ and still able to drive with no impact to performance.

I have a small code reader and flags up:

244800
244900

I have the car booked in for service on friday, so will phone the garage/ have them check this out. but has anyone experienced these fault codes? google doesn’t seem to be throwing anything obvious up!

Odd because google gives me the expected issue with the particle filter. Force a regen and go on a long journey

yep, I got there in the end. when I first posted, I had different format to the fault codes (my error) I had my code reader set for my wifes car. but yeah the problem is just to do with the dpf filter.

looks like i’ve hit the arbitrary ‘end of life’ limit set by bmw, even though my dpf is still working ok.

so I need to ‘reset’ the dpf on the computer and tell the car it has a new one/ give me 150k miles left to go…… I have bimmerlink app/ code reader, but looks like I need ‘ISTA’ to actually do the reset. It’s booked in for a service and not so hopefully something the garage can do with their computer.

Mine’s on 157k and I think I have same issue - am I right in thinking that if it’s left like this for too long without a regen then the dpf will clog to the point where a forced regen won’t work?

not sure, mine seems to still be doing regens. But I also will be checking with the code reader/ bimmerlink app to make sure it continues, and doing forced regens if it doesn’t do it by itself

The local specialists suggested a clean and reset when this milestone is hit, which doesn't seem like a bad idea. won't be like new, but it will get more miles out of it.
