You'll need the Technology Pack for the head up display.
What you'll need for the rest will depend on the year of car you're looking at as the packages have changed a number of times.
Driving Assistant Professional will give you active cruise control - this is in the Technology Plus Pack from late 2020 until mid 2024.

There’s a stunning pre-LCI for sale on autotrader at the moment. If I didnt have mine now I’d certainly be looking at it. (I have no connection to the seller btw)

Technology Pack is nice as it gives you HUD, Harmon Kardon (which is very beneficial over the standard sound system) and a couple of other nice toys. Comfort Pack a must if you need electric seats, otherwise not essential. I believe Adaptive Suspension is an option on these but I've never missed it to be honest... and if you are buying one that is specced up, beware of any made during the COVID era as chances are they'll be missing options- some lost Harmon Kardon, wireless charging, and even the touchscreen as a result of chip shortages, even if they were specced to the 9s. Dealers will be clueless to this as well and certainly won't tell you so check- it'll be flagged up in the spec list normally as 'Deletion of X'.
Oh, and avoid any base models with regional identifiers on the reg from YA through to YK- chances are they were sold into a hire fleet from new and got absolutely flogged. I know because I've flogged a few myself and have many many colleagues who've done the same with countless more...
Incredibly good cars though, I've driven one from Bristol to Glasgow and back and honestly couldn't have thought of a better companion- and frankly when I got home I could've quite happily have turned around and headed back north of the border. 40mpg without too much trouble, savagely fast when you want it to be and yet loaded up with all the tech, comfort and refinement that anyone ever really needs.

Couple of points - Comfort Pack will only give you the heated steering wheel, comfort access, luggage net in the boot and an electric boot. You'll need Comfort Plus (very late 2020 mild hybrid cars onwards) or Premium Pack (launch cars until late 2020) to get the electric seats. The M340i fortunately was not badly affected by the COVID era specification problems - one of the reasons many BMW's had missing stereo upgrades and head up displays is because for a time they were kept back for M Performance cars only. This means every M340i with a Technology Pack will have the stereo regardless of production date. Specification removals on the M340i were limited to wireless charging, things like passenger seat width adjustment and like you say the touchscreen. Fortunately no significant items of specification were removed.

It's standard on the M340i.
Only until this month, not standard since July 2024 In terms of adaptive suspension I've never been a massive fan and my immediate reaction was I wouldn't pay extra for it if I was speccing a new M340i today. However, it looks like cars with adaptive have suspension which is lowered and stiffened so perhaps it's a case of driving a car with passive and a car with adaptive to see which you prefer?
