Where are you in the world?

And which wheels do you have fitted as there are various styles, with various finishes: https://www.alloywheelsdirect.net/bmw_alloy_wheels...

When I asked where in the world are you; it was a touch of sarcasm... wink

Where in the UK; so folk can recommend wheel refurb places...?

And I missed the 343 bit sorry... Yup; diamond cut IIRC, but you don't have to have them re-cut if you don't like the finish. A bright silver powdercoat would have them looking minty fresh

Sorry smile

North london

From what I understand diamond cut means metal is not painted or where it is cut isn’t

Mine was fully sprayed when bought and they come in silver or black. If black then don’t think it is diamond cut or am i wrong?

Once you fix one, should you have all 4 sprayed?

I could sand it with 180 and paint/ laquer bits needed but it is 4k alloy so don’t want cheap job

IIRC they're powdercoated then diamond cut, then lacquered, to protect the surface... But it doesn't last unfortunately

The face is the cut part (you'll see the cut lines if you look closely enough) the inner sections will still be powdercoated etc

As said; you can get them fully refurbed (ie stripped right back and then re-powdercoated) and forgo the diamond cut; you'll have a super-clean as new looking wheel that won't tarnish then

But if you do want them re-cut; then so be it...

And personally I'd do all 4 so they all match. But that's my OCD and agree; no point in DIY'ing as you'll never achieve that level of

As an example I had the 351Ms fitted to my F01 fully powdercoated in platinum silver

A superb finish and colour

But then again it's down the colour of your car and what colour you get the wheels done in etc

These were not diamond cut wheels though, so not quite the same thing - but they look fantastic in your picture, I can't actually tell that isn't the factory finish (Which is very similar to that).

That I know wink not highlighting the diamond cut side of things; more the solid colour and how better a wheel can look but also stay that way rather than the white bloom coming back, that diamond cut wheels are well known for...

And platinum silver is a superb colour; it's actually much brighter than BMWs own silver which can be a touch grey at times; that's what I had the Style 66s done in on my previous Jap import 540i:

Re diamond cut wheels, my Dad's X3M is on its 3rd set, in nearly 3 years, under warranty as they'd rather replace the whole set weirdly...

His last set my Mum managed to smack one against a curb (god knows how); he got them powdercoated in Orbit Grey and they look so much better

It costs 360 for all 4 wheels

It doesn’t seem they diamon cut , just sand down and then pint after stripping / sand blasting so part of alloy will have less metal/ meat
