Hi all,

Thinking about a remap for my 335d (yes, I know, Pistonheads cliche...) and wondered if anyone had any experience of Bluespark tuning boxes?

IMO if you're getting a remap; get it done properly and stay away from these so called tuning boxes...

Loads of YT videos showing the comparisons between a tuning box and proper remap; look at Darkside Developments channel as an example

Thanks, I'll take a look.

There's a tuner local to me that seems to be very well regarded (Emaps), but the idea of a plug and play/removable unit is quite appealing. Was wondering if anyone had any real world experience of this particular unit.

I would not fit that to a BMW N57 engine. Get it mapped properly, these fail due to poor re-maps: https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

I'm a fellow 335d owner, no way on gods earth i'd trust one of those.

Simon of eMaps is well regarded and his maps have been written using dyno pulls etc; he'll also do your remap on a dyno for an extra charge

Know a few folk that have used Simon now and very positive feedback; well worth contacting him

Had a blue spark fitted to my N55 M235i around 5 years ago, they were relatively new back then. The guy who manufactures them lives close to me and fitted it himself. He also works in conjunction with a known performance centre so has had cars rolling roaded with his tuning boxes.

I personally thought the Bluespark was an ok option for the £. Ran it for around a year without problems before deciding I wanted the JB4 option.

Ran it on an N55 M135i, there's a jumper to give you 5 modes. Never had a problem with it, used it for a while, then sold it on. Had no problems with it.

Did either of you notice any significant performance and/or economy gains?
