Had my eyes peeled for one for ages on my daily travels. They're like buses. On Monday saw one pass the other way on the M25 - unmistakable. Then got stuck in traffic next to one a couple of minutes later.

Needless to say the guy was leaving a large gap in front of him each time and then gunning it.

Sounded fantastic

..but it sounds like a diesel at startup with irks me. My E39 M5 had a lovely V8 rumble (Milltek exhausts) and I am definitely going to fit an aftermarket system to add some more beef to the soundtrack of the V10 - not sure which one right now.

Yup, had a sit in one at a local dealer. Only got to press the throttle a couple of times but I agree that it sounds like a truck on tickover, and even at a few thou RPM it sounds tinny. Once at WOT and over 4000rpm it screams - beautiful.

Just waiting for Performance/Total/BMW Car to show the first V10 ZM Coupe/e30/e34 conversion!
