E46 Alpina front end

Can someone shed some light on something for me. I always thought that the pre facelift E46 Alpinas had the oblong fog lights, and the facelift had the little round ones. But I've seen them online with pre-facelift headlights with the little round fog lights. Does anyone know what the rule is?
Does it have anything to do with being a B3 or a B3S?

This is B3S coupe number 10, pre LCI. It's as originally supplied by Sytner. Hope this helps.
