Hi all,

I bought my F06 last year to replace an outgoing Skoda Superb. Love the car, very happy with it. Like lots of PHers I ride bikes and will need to transport my roadbike soon using the car. I have a brother in law who uses a seasucker on his i8 and he speaks highly of it.

I will need to go from Goodwood to Sandringham carrying a roadbike and I already know it doesn't fit in the boot! Are there any alternatives to Seasucker I should be considering? I'll be working a couple of days of this year's FoS and don't massively trust how secure a Seasucker would be in the car park.

Does anyone have alternative bike solutions? The car doesn't currently have roofracks and I'm keen to avoid them if I can.

As ever - pics or it didn't happen!

I’m using a Seasucker on my Z4.

It works really well, but is not secure at all because they’re so easy to remove (I take it off whilst I’m riding to be honest). Saying that, I didn’t really like leaving my bikes on my old Thule rack and that was locked to the car. I’m not sure there is a secure, external solution to be honest.

Yeah, this is my concern; I think I might just have to accept the risk. Goodwood should be safe (you'd hope) but the overnight hotel in Portsmouth... not so sure!

I went out with it last night for a ride. So unnerving not being able to see the bike at all in the mirrors!

I also realised half way round the ride that I never took off the velcro strap off my crank and was panicking about how I'd protect the roof on the way home. Luckily it was sat waiting for me at the car, nevertheless some cable ties now live in the boot, just in case!

Love this car more and more. I take the kids to school in it, can now go riding, it sounds good, cruises nicely, has enough torque for country lane overtakes and just ticks every box at the moment.

Does need a clean though!
