M5: an emphatic reaffirmation...

Despite the post-service John Wayne gait, it was nothing short of automotive elixation to pick the damn thing up from the dealer this morning, point it north and revel in the solid slug of vast, uber engineering, that hugely illegal sorties in this thing represent.

Everything was perfect, from the seating position, chunk of wheel & lever reach, through smoothness of delivery and no-nonsense growl as 4000 rpm was breached, to the overwhelming precision of hyper hunkered-downness at speeds that only designers with square heads and a minimal sense of humour, seem able to resolve.

For road driving, I'm delighted to report that once more, the M5 has recharmed it's way straight back into my affections.

Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant!
