Just coming to the end of first year of owning an M850i, it's £2300 renewal online
Anyone had any joy with negotiating a price on a renewal?

Luke.

Unfortunately the 8 seems to be an outlier in extended warranty costs. Last time I looked an M3 or M5 was c£1,200. Even an 840i is over £2k.
Strange and annoying as I am likely to have an 8 at some point and would pay for the warranty.

My experience - it's been a good car, but as BMW have made fewer they do seem to have some more niggles compared to the 3, 5 series etc. Good luck with yours when it comes and enjoy!

Have you tried with largest excess(£250) and don't have the recovery option- this will depend on your circumstances on how reliant you are on the car. Had a z4 35i witht the warranty and no recovery(weekend car) had problems with roof(twice) and coolant leak(straight after it replaced as part of oi cooler gasket leak). On both occasions at home at the breakdown came out and sorted it for me due to circumstances including getting the car relyed back to the dealer for the coolant leak foc.
Had cover with autoaiid on another car so wouldn't be completely stuck in my circumstances.

Hi, I just have just renewed with the recovery option and also the £250 excess, the cost plummeted to £1380. Thanks!

Wow thats some saving- another tipis is if car will roll over 60k miles in next insurance year change policy to monthly payment will cost abouit 10% more in total but at renewal monthly prmium will go up by amount of inflatioat n instead of substantial increase for mileage of vehicle. Fir the z434i it was about £40per month below 6ok miles but i£70+ per month if annual policy renewed above that mileage. The £40 only went up by about £3 par month to £43.over 2 years

Good to know. My renewal is due in June and will be around 70K miles at that point, so if I just stay on monthly payments, it will be cheaper than paying annually?

I thought the excess adjustment was the obvious starting point. That works with any insurance - house, car, warranty.

840i with 13k on the clock, extended warranty just under 2k with 250 excess and no recovery. Not for for me I’m afraid, hopefully I won’t regret it.

My i8 Roadster is only £950. 8 series costs suggest that BMW expect it to be called upon.

The sole reason I'm after a 440i and not an 840i is the eyewatering warranty cost of the 8.

How much! My 2016 335d was £339 annual (last December), fully comp, £250 excess. Recovery is covered by StartRescue.
