X3M adaptive suspension versus X3 M40i passive ride quality
Discussion
I'm just considering swapping our 2018 X3 M40i with a 2023 X3M. I know the ride is firmer on the latter but was wondering if anyone can give any thoughts on how comfort on the X3M compares with the passive suspension we have on the M40i.
I'm no stranger to firm suspension with a GT3, modified Evo VI and Golf R in the stable but would like to keep some comfort for when its being used for family duties.
Any thoughts appreciated
Thanks
Fred

I think the pre LCI X3M was less sorted suspension wise with the LCI seemingly a bit better (with noticeably better torque too).
I was put off the M but the worry re suspension after previous M experience - superb when 'on it' but for ever day use not so.
I would say do try first as the car in M40i guise (I had adaptive on 21's though and loved it as slightly firmer than 20 passive) is really well sorted and I so regretted selling my 2019 after 4 years .... but always wanted more oomph (and remapped too via DMS).
