Having sold my 911 last summer I am missing having a 'nice' car. I need 4 properly usable seats for wife and I plus a 3 & 7 year old and we would really like a convertible. I would also like something that is daily driveable.
The 640d cabrio seems the only logical solution. Not really a fan of 3 series and the folding hard top looks like it takes all the boot space.
Being ULEZ compliant is not a deal breaker but from what I have read they are compliant from late 2015 facelift?
Are they a decent car? I have also read that visibility isnt great so cameras are a must have option. Any other must have's?
I would be looking to ideally spend early teens on one.
Thanks!

i have a 2017 coupe.
38mpg long term average
80% motorway with CC set at 75.
very big car. doesn't fit in most spaces (or barely)
not massive inside despite the size of the car.
very rare on the road though. and gets many looks
only problems i've had are the drivers window sometimes goes half way down and stops. also the boot no longer opens on its own

Not a phrase I would use to describe the 6 series convertible. Have a look at the 4 series as well, I swear it's better. I found my 6 as amusingly small in the rear for its size. Aside from that, one of BMWs best in my view.
I'm only 5'8", and in my driving position you couldn't fit anyone in behind me in the 640d, whereas you easily can in the M4 in comparison.
Having test drove the 640D coupe vs the GC; even the GC was tight in the back (I'm not normal sized); but even my 5ft 4 wife couldn't fit in behind me in the drivers seat...
I'd say they're a 2+2 really; deffo not 4 useable seats IMO
Fantastic car & engine; but a family car they're not

Thanks for the replies.
I was not expecting the seats in the back to be full size and am used to fairly tight space for the kids coming from the 911 but thought they would be bigger than the 911 at least. Will go have a look at one and see.
not keen on 3/4 series as wanted a GT type car that felt a bit special

Whilst someone is sat in the front seats?
And move the driver seat too?
