Hi all.
I figure I post this here - there already is quite a bit about Noxem in various posts and indeed other forums but another experience will hopefully help people who are considering one.
Well, I installed mine today after 3 years of hesitation. Mind you, my N53 always behaved well with reasonable fuel consumption for 3.0 petrol, no sooty exhaust etc. Main reasons why I did not spend money on fixing it earlier.
Back to the sensor. My mechanic installed mine today, relatively simple job.
For adaptations, I used INPA on my laptop in line with instructions on Bimmerprofs. I was worried that deleting adaptations will mess things up and engine wi run like a pig - bimmerprofs want about that.
It was however largely uneventful.
No shuddering etc. I followed all the procedures, flywheel adaptations, running at given speeds, idling, rinse and repeat etc.
Halfway through I checked that box works and engine goes into stratified.
Later on I noticed fuel consumption was already down and the mpg gauge goes into 50+ zone frequently - it never did that before.
So far so good then and touch wood it will stay this way.
For those of you wondering if you should go for it, my vote is yes. I wish I did sooner.
