Just a heads up folks, am still searching for an M240i and doing my homework, was quite surprised at some of the insurance costs i was seeing. I know insurance has rocketed but i've got 10 years NCB and i'm getting mad quotes.

Any way, i checked BMW Insurance direct and it's coming in much cheaper (£200+ saving vs Compare the Market). Not sure if anyone has used before so welcome feedback but if not, and your insurance is due, might be worth checking with them. Didn't even know they offered tbh.

Yes, I've gone with BMW Flex, who were the most competitive for me, plus it's a monthly subscription model. It's underwritten by LV, who I was with before but they wanted a 72% increase in premium plus a sneaky £100 extra compulsory excess.

It's nuts at the moment, paying the price for all the thefts.

My F31 335d went from £630 to over £1,100 at renewal last week. 46 years old, 14 years NCB, no mods, no points on licences or anything, 5k year mileage.

Got a better price by calling around, but it was still £850.

I’m with BMW flex while my car is up for sale, they were quite a bit cheaper for me as well

Only needed a short term plan.

More expensive on our M340i and can't pay for a full year as far as I can see, seems to be aimed at short term needs.

Just for a laugh I added our 20yr old daughter on the comparison sites and they wanted an extra £6k.....Adding her to my Boxster S would only be an extra £500 - go figure.
