BMW in continued positive dealer experience shocker...
Discussion
...or maybe BMW dealers are universally good? This G22 is my first BMW so I don't know, but previously my dealership experiences (Alfa Romeo, Jaguar, DS, Renault) haven't always been good - so the BMW experience has been a welcome surprise.
Anyway, been meaning for a few weeks to get on here and give props (assuming it's allowed?) to Sytner High Wycombe who just did the service. Slightly lower cost than quoted, excellent communication throughout, no upsell attempts at all from the obligatory health check (just a very thorough run-through, with supporting video, reassuring me that "everything's fine"). Excellent coffee and snacks, and impromptu 2er coupe test drive, were also provided.
They were also great when we first went to look at/test drive a G22, though they couldn't actually get a build slot for one - and were really honest about it. We found one in the pipeline to another dealer (Lister, Kings Lynn, who were also great to deal with). I've also called in, without an appointment, to Sytner in Tring and they were able to take a quick look and resolve my issue without fuss.
So maybe this is normal for BMW, but so far the dealership experience has been a bit of a shocker (in a good way) and very likely to replace it with another 4er in due course.

I guess it all depends on the person you’re dealing with…
My local Sytner were awful from a sales point of view and I walked very quickly and bought via Tony Lewis. They were good with the warranty issues and servicing on my M140i.
They were frustrating and a bit useless when I tried to use tye extended warranty on my current 335i.
The parts team have been consistently excellent though.

I'm quite a fan of sytner servicing. I've used the Harold Wood branch a number of times and always felt valued. Chigwell is good too but have not used them recently.
Contrast that with the Honda dealer next door (before the change of management), the level of customer service was hugely lacking.

This really is a shocker. And a nice one to hear too.
I've been frequenting the London based main dealers for seriving last 10+ years, never been very impressed. Bought my current BMW from Sytner HIgh Wycombe, very positive experience. The Tring branch (pre-Sytner) was also great when I was looking at buying.
Might have to change my servicing to Sytner group for the next one based on the above, thanks!
