I'm pulling out my hair going round and round in circles deciding which engine oil to choose for my f22 m235i.

Could someone just recommended one, so I can buy it and be confident it'll do it's job it needs...

Thanks

Any 5w30 that meets the BMW LL04 specs. That and a decent filter (Mann, Hengst, Mahle, OEM BMW).

You could go with 5w40 but probably not needed

Keeping the oil fresh is important, so no need to pay through the nose for specific brands...

Look on Opie Oils for ideas

You can also use 0w30, 0w40, 5w40 as long as they are LL04.

Agree with the last two comments clap , and regular oil and filter changes is the key

I'll get something from opie oil.

I'm a new owner and this would be my first service. My plans to have a fresh oil/filter change every 5k miles. Does that sound ok?

Once/twice a year is fine unless you're doing very high miles

I do my F31 every 6 months as we do low miles but want to keep the oil/filter fresh and it takes 30mins to do the oil change etc
