Shock absorbers for an E39 ?
Discussion
I need to fit some new shock absorbers on my 523i, what do people suggest?
I have polybushed the whole suspension, fitted Eibach lowering springs, fitted Motorsport anti roll bars front and rear. Happy to go firm but wanted to see what standard shocks were like with existing upgrades. Too much roll.

Go for Sachs Sport shocks
You need 553834 fronts, and 170857 rears for the saloon
They're equivalent to Sachs OEM Mtech Sport shocks and will pair perfectly with the Eibach springs
Exactly what I ran on my Japanese import 540i Sport saloon and 530i Sport Touring (rears are different for the touring, they're 311952)
They'll have the car riding and handling perfectly but still with the or compliance for our bad roads... They do really well with the Eibach springs
If you haven't already, get all new top mounts too
