I need to get my Mum's 2004 BMW 318Ti Compact serviced and have spoken to her main dealer I think it could get very expensive. However, I can see a couple of local specialists in Wakefield who have good Google ratings... does anyone have experience of 'Big Mini Works' or 'German Autocare' Wakefield please? i don't want to trust her pride and joy to just anyone or I will never hear the last of it!!

My OH has been using German Autocare Leeds (in Pudsey) for her 2005 120d for years. Never had an issue with them. Reassuringly expensive but not main dealer expensive, if that makes sense.

My local BMW dealer does servicing at much lower rates for older cars

It actually works out cheaper than at reputable Indy’s

It’s worth contacting them and asking

I recommend Cramag in Guisely - it's not a million miles from Wakefield.

Cramag don't do servicing on a weekend, in case it matters. If they did they'd get all of our work as it's an easier trip than Pudsey for us... but not if we have to use annual leave for it!

Two merc's and two minis in the family and we use both. Both come highly recommended. Andy at Big Mini Works is very knowledgeable.

A good mate of mine uses German Autocare for his M4 and Merc C63S and highly recommends them.

I live in Leeds so use a specialist more local to me.

New Lane Garage in Bradford are worth considering, in spite of the location.
Have a look at the reviews for confirmation.
I was very happy with the work he did on my 130i.

He seems a decent chap and looks to get lots of repeat work which tells me all I need to know.

I second that. When I couldn't get my car in Cramag I took it there. Did a good job.

If your car sits at all low, mind the hump in the entrance!
