F30 Brembo brakes, new pads, and discs?
Discussion
My timer ran down on pads, then warning light came on, checked pads just before and looked to be 4-5mm ish.
Done about 100 miles since.
Car at bmw for mot and recall, their health check reckons it needs new discs too because of corrosion and pads so low it’s damaging disc?
Is this bmw just trying it on on ‘value add’
The discs have a lip as they often do, and are a bit rusty, as they are…
They’re new since late 2016, and 42k miles, also original pads.
Deffo gonna do myself given the high bmw prices, but curious if the discs would fail an mot or not?
I’m wanting to avoid wasting money on discs that’ll do another round of pads.
Or is it common they need discs/pads each time?
Onboard computer thing seems to think discs last much longer.
