Is this excessive oil consumption

Hi all
So my 120d bought from 6 months old 6 years ownership 100k put on it never used oil between services
My 2014 F30 30d bought from new 7 years ownership 115k put on it never used oil between services
My current car a F30 335d purchased at 4 years old 24k on it never used oil for the first year of ownership ,seems to use 1ltr every 3000 miles ,the dealer could not find any leaks and just said that it is in tolerance of oil usage and that's the way it is.
I dont buy it how could my last 2 BMW use no oil and this one a ltr every 3000 miles.
Gut feeling there is a problem but maybe some do use oil some don't,any thoughts

My old E46 330i used a litre every 600 miles and BMW claimed it was within spec. There were no obvious leaks and it didn’t appear to smoke although I’m sure it did and I just couldn’t see it.
I had it for 40k miles and it never got worse, just cost quite a lot in oil!

Been doing some googling about using thicker oil not the recco 5w30 but I have not got the cajones to try that.
I have had four diesels - none a BMW but my son had a 3 series diesel which was in line with mine on oil consumption. None of the five cars with mileages up to 150,000+ used a drop between services. Diesel engines have no throttle butterfly so there is very little vacuum at all in the cylinders unlike a petrol engine. The vacuum on a trailing throttle sucks oil down the valve guides if there's any wear at all - not on a diesel though.
OP here, I am booked in with N Oxford BMW 55 miles away but I have a lot of faith in them lovely dealership,my local Dealer is just awful. Luckily I am getting a curtesy car otherwise that would have been a no go.
After I bought it I put 9k on no problem then had a service, then another 9k before the initial problem so there is an issue, "tolerance level" doesn't cut it for me. Irony is I set the warranty at £250 excess to keep costs down this will be the third time I have used it.Before this car my 330d I had never used it and had it set at £100 excess.Bugger.

That is absolute garbage - I have the internal documents 00 12 07 (381) and it explicitly states that the maximum permissible consumption for a standard diesel/gasoline engine is 0.7ltr per 1000km. Your engine is well outside this and as such, you should ask the morons at the service desk to perform Enclosure 11 to Service Instructions 11 07 96 (138) edition 02/2019.In a nutshell, they should completely drain the engine oil, clean out the oil level sensor, put a new filter, fill up with the appropriate grade oil, seal the sump drain and set you on your way. As soon as you hit at least 1000km, preferably more, you would go back, BMW would drain and measure the amount and then determine if you have a case for further remedial work.
Being fobbed off that your oil consumption is within tolerance is wrong....
My first BMW was an E46 320td Compact I bought with less than 3,000 miles from new and ran for another 43K, my second was a 123D I bought pre-registered and kept until it had done over 80K miles - neither needed any top-ups between services.
I've had a few petrol straight 6's since and they have all used quite a bit, albeit within BMW tolerances, apart from my Z4M that so far doesn't need any top-ups between services.
Still oil isn't exactly expensive!

Prior to that I had an E36 straight 6 petrol, for 150k miles. Again, that never needed oil between services.

OP here really tracking Oil Consumption and putting it down on paper before I take it in to BMW N Oxford. The idrive measurer is laughable ,from 3/4 to next day half, to next day full then next day 3/4,all on same level piece of ground after dozens of miles. Luckily I actually have a manual oil dipstic on my 335d and at the moment is on half but without that how you are able to trust the I drive measurer is beyond me.
