M140i tyre replacement
Discussion
Hi all,
My Son has an M140i, currently on 18" Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres, which are due for replacement.
Are there any recommendations for a tyre with the same level of grip as the MPS4s, with the same level of ride quality and noise?
Thanks for any replies!

I was going to go for the PS4s or PS5s on my F31 but went with the Goodyear Assym 6s and have found them to be superb so far and a good saving on the Michelins too!
I went with them after Jon's reviews on them vs the PS5s

I have Goodyear EfficientGrip on my F30 335d. My main priorities are wet performance, and comfort/noise, and they have not disappointed. Also, they have a full 8mm starting depth (I measured mine at 8.5mm in the central groove). In reviews, the Goodyear Assymetrics may edge it on some performance factors, but having had mine for a few years, I would not be changing from them when I have to replace them. They are 18” staggered and certainly miles better than 19” Pirelli zeros they replaced.
I'd go PS5 personally. Similar grip to the PS4s but much quieter - I've got them on my 125i and they are brilliant tyres. Cost a little more than the Goodyear/Contis but will typically last longer so work out about the same price overall.
I've got a little less power and a lot less torque than an M140i, but I never see the traction control light flickering, even in the wet.
