Not long bought a 440i m sport. Luckily under warranty' still.

Not the most mechanically minded owner in the world but here’s my issue yesterday. Blowing quite a bit of white smoke out when pulling off and slight loss of power. A small amount of self revving and quite a loud whining/whistling sound at times when at Idle.

My best guess is the turbo is on its way out but. But looking to the experts on here for advice.

Does it go away when you turn the engine off and back on again ?
Sometimes the PCV (valve) sticks and you get the symptoms you describe.

If it's under warranty; take it back and let them sort it

Could be PCV as said; but could be other issues also...

If it is the PCV, get the Cat checked while you still have a warranty.

My B48 engined car had the PCV go, followed shortly after by the turbo oil seal failing. Both of which chucked oil into the intake, resulting crud coming out of the engine contaminated the cat.
