Neighbour says he knows of an immaculate one for sale with 110k on the clock, only thing is, he says it's an auto, did such an animal exist?

just over 2500 units buit for the world market 186 were made right hand drive and not a single one was fitted with an auto box, nor did they have the dogleg 1st box as seen in the E30 M3, they couldnt handle the torque.

Yup, it'll be an M535i. Still a cool car though, if its in good condition

I think he might be refering to the SMG?? definatly NO autos though... thats what Alpina were for

yes they did for US market and iron?!? 240hp detuned engine...

But yes, US only. Along with what I believe to be a tuned 'normal' BMW engine as opposed to a detuned 'M' engine.

Yeh it was basically a 332i, not a proper M engine.
