Apart from on a ship, obviously. But does anyone know how it all works? My car’s built and currently at status 165 according to my dealer, which apparently means it’s on a dockside awaiting shipment. Delivery at my dealer is scheduled for w/c 19/6, but that’s subject to change.

I don’t think there’s any way to track where your car is like you can in the USA, so my questions are please:
1. How often do the ships sail?
2. How long do they take to cross the Atlantic?
3. Do they come straight to UK? Some people on t’internet think they go via Germany for last checks. One chap on another forum’s car is subject to a “technical campaign” which might necessitate a fix before delivery, but mine seems ok, so far.
4. How long might it take to get from port (Southampton?) to my dealer in Guildford?
5. How long might it take for all the PDI stuff at the dealer before I can take delivery?

The reason it’s important (as well as me being a massive saddo) is that I’m off on a Pyrenees & Alps jolly on the evening of Monday 26/6. If it comes early I’ll just have time to get it run in & do the 1200 mile service (it’s an M2) before setting off.

Any help/advice from well-informed insiders appreciated.

2 & 3 Series - 8 weeks
X3/X4 - 6 Weeks
X7 - 8 weeks (goes to Germany first

The estimate is usually quite accurate. But there's a high probability being a new model it will get stuck at port awaiting a recall, so I wouldn't get your hopes up.
