I have had my E92 330d for about five years and with the mileage at 103k, it's still a very good car. I have been thinking, though, of upgrading to a 430d.
There is only so much that a test drive can tell you, so are there any PHers out there that have owned both, that can share their experiences?
The Grancoupe F36 is also an option. I should also add that I tried a 320d F30, and was not struck on the low-speed clatter. The extra power is not really necessary, but desirable.

I think it’s a mixed bag; the tech is better, the later car is more refined and the auto box is loads better. They’re noticeably bigger which is good and bad.
If you have an older E92 with the HPAS then the EPAS might be a let down. There are also some areas of trim that feel a bit st. The one that always bugged me on the F series car was the vertical spoke on the steering wheel; tap it and it feels super hollow and cheap.

I’ve had both various E92s (320d and 330d) and various F32s (420d X Drive and 430d).
F32 definitely an improvement, more refined, better tech (esp later models with digital instruments, and CarPlay) but not all have this. Steering is probably the worst aspect, direct but lacking feel. F series cars do feel big initially but you get used to that.
My current one is an X Drive 420d - love the traction advantage, don’t think it was available on the 430d.
Overall the F32 feels like a more modern car, though the new G32 makes it feel a bit dated - the F32 is a 10 year old design now.
