Those with an MMI box installed
Discussion
I have an MMI box installed from Andream. Having gone to use my cheapo Bluetooth OBDII module, I've found that Bimmercode can no longer connect. Seems others have had the same issue too when they have an MMI box installed.
My question: will this stop BMW from accessing the OBD using their computers? My 640d is in for a service and EGR Recall tomorrow and I want to ensure they can use their tools.

I had one on a Mini I had years ago.
Is it a wireless MMI box - as in wireless from phone to box? If so I believe the issue is that your phone connects to the MMI box by default and can't connect to both that and the Bluetooth OBD dongle simultaneously. It shouldn't be a problem when connecting directly to the OBD by cable like BMW will do.
Unless it's a different type of MMI box that needed wired into your OBD port?

Ah! Correct, it's a wireless MMI box, I had not considered the phone trying to connect to both! I'll go out and try that right now. Is it a wireless MMI box - as in wireless from phone to box?
