Time for some new shock absorbers on my e46 330i sport touring. My local garage has quoted for Monroes shocks, has anyone had any experience of these? The cost is approximately half of Bilsteins B4’s so alarms ringing a bit.

Monroe can be oem and have been around for a long time.

Try larkspeed and demon tweaks for the b4’s

Personally I’d go Sachs if you can

OEM & suit the car well. You just need to find the correct part numbers whether it’s an SE or Sport…

Tbh fitting new top mounts & springs whilst it’s all apart makes a lot of sense, IMO

Sachs all the way

for sport fronts are 317 539 and 317 540

current part number for rears is 556 882 although this is apparently a different part to the one they were supplying BMW back in the 2000s

if you fancy splashing out a bit a mate of mine fitted Koni special active and they are very nice. circa twice the cost of Sachs tho

Thanks for the advice, definitely getting top mounts done as well along with bump stops and dust covers.
