Clock won't set, bizarre problem with BMW F36
Discussion
Hi
I'm pulling out what hair I have now as I have tried everything I can find online and have spent time on some fruitless calls with BMW.
The issue is that the time and date do not show on my iDrive or binnacle. This then causes issues with the satnav (no eta) and trip computer (no info at all).
I've tried updating the iDrive firmware, disconnecting the battery negative terminal for 45 minutes and swearing a lot, but nothing seems to help.
I can change the 'Automatically set time and date' to manual, then change the time, but as soon as I click the iDrive controller ('enter', in effect) and go back to the 'set time and date' page, all I get are 4 dashes for the time and 8 dashes for the date. It just doesn't seem to save.
I have it booked in with the dealer but have to wait for a month and would really like to sort this before then if possible.
I obviously haven't done this with mine as it's under warranty, but I wonder if Bimmercode might affect it, even if only very small things were changed. Or if an external amplifier (like this, for example: https://vibeaudio.co.uk/product/powerbox65-4m-v7 ) might have an impact?
Any thoughts appreciated!
