After a little bit of advice please. I have a 320i touring 2021 model. Currently has just over 10,000 miles on it and BMW are saying the rear pads and tyres will need changing in a couple of months. That sounds far to soon in my opinion, the car isn’t hammered and is mostly driven by my mrs who takes the kids around.

Anyone else think this doesn’t sound right??

I bought my 320d with 27k on the clock, the disks and pads looked fairly new at the time. I replaced disks and pads all round last year when the car had about 64k on the clock. So yes, 10k seems a bit too soon?!

Did you buy the car new, or pre-owned/pre-registered?

You should be able to easily check the tyre depth yourself...and if they're talking bks about those, then they're likely talking bks about the pads too. If you're not comfortable/able to check yourself, go around to a fast fit place for one of there free/cheap winter checks.

Most BMW dealer will recommend replacement at 3mm rather than the legal minimum of 1.6mm...which is sensible in my opinion (especially for our generally wet autumn/winter/spring conditions).
