BMW Z3 power hood pump topping up.

I hav a 2001 BMW Z3 Roaster that needs power hood pump topping up with CHF fluid. At the moment the pump is fitted on its side that makes the filler screw LOWER! than the fluid. Do i need to remove the pump and hold it upright so i can top it up? Any answers greatly appreciated.

I’d ask on one of the Z3 Facebook pages or on Zroadster.org which seems to be pretty Z3 centric

I’ve topped mine up on my Z4 and pulled it out to do so and relocated it into the boot side panel at the same time .. but unfortunately my knowledge of Z3’s isn’t great

Looks like there are two types of pumps, guessing yours is the later one?
