According to https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/driving/check-your-vehicl...

My 2000 E46 330Ci is not compliant with the London ULEZ. However, if I put in the reg for a 2001 model (eg RB51 RBM), it is compliant.

Same engine? Same emissions?

Why is this the case? confused

Simples. All depends when BMW started classifying their engines as Euro 4 rather than Euro 3. Euro 4 petrol became manditory only in January 2005 so if BMW did a 330i in 2001 then lucky owners. As usual with these type of laws the actual emmissions are irrelevant so cars that cheated (see VW diesels etc.) it just comes down to what was declared. Yours is a Euro 3 you are stuffed

Was quite surprised (and pleased) that my 2003 330i is ULEZ exempt. Still have to pay congestion charge at weekends now though. I used to quite like the occasional cruise around the sights on a weekend. Exactly the sort of behaviour that is designed to prevent I suppose.

Have since donated the 330Ci to my dad (so it's his problem now wink ).

My N52 engined 330i, 630i and Z4 all ULEZ Zone compliant, and most comedically my wife's 4.8 V8 X5 is as well. biggrin

I was quite surprised my 2002 E46 325ti Compact was compliant, and love the fact that my Z4M is too!
