E91 iDrive: cannot assign desired function

Hi All,
Minor irritation and unsure how long this has been an issue on our ageing E91 pre LCI.

I am unable to save any favourite on the 8 keys. No matter how hard I try it always says "unable to assign desired function". I have tried this on both the different key fobs and no difference.

Is this symptomatic of keys or idrive issue?

I can't find any useful threads by Googling, so any clues appreciated.

Possibly normal i'm afraid. Some things, you just cannot assign.

Try something like a radio station. Does that work?

Thanks for the reply. It is just a radio station I am trying. There are others already assigned. On one of the keys I clearer all the stored favourites just to see if this os relevant, but i still cannot assign any new ones. It is most odd.

All other iDrive functions appear fine.

It's slightly counter-intuitive. You have to be at the point where the desired function is highlighted in the menu, rather than in the function itself.

Get to the point where a press of the idrive knob would take you into the function or item, and program the favourite button there.
