I have a 2016 F15 X5 and for the past 6 months or so RTTI has been completely inaccurate. It frequently (daily) shows roads as busy (yellow) or blocked (red) when in fact they're completely clear and as a result I can no longer rely on it at all. Has anyone else experienced this and know why, and possibly how to fix it please? As far as I know no updates have been done.

Do you have an active ConnectedDrive subscription - if not, then its not RTTI it is basic traffic - this data comes from a data signal under the radio and then made to look a bit like RTTI

RTTi uses the active connectedDrive and the car's SIM card

Thanks, yes I do have an active Connected Drive Subscription. However, maybe it is the basic traffic that I am referring to as I don't set a destination on the sat nav it's just the green/yellow/red lines on the roads that I'm looking at when generally driving around. This used to be very accurate but now it's a complete waste of time frown

I have fallen out of love with the BMW nav even though it integrates with the HUD etc. The RTTI is awful, sending me on pointless loops for no reason or driving me straight into traffic. Even if there's no traffic it's routing decisions are questionable. I've paid it for a few years now but won't be bothering in future.

RTTI depends on the roadside info systems, which aren't always accurate. Just use Waze, or Google Maps.

I thought it used swarm data from other BMW cars????

Mine is pretty decent

Not super accurate in my 530E, usually telling me a road is closed when I'm 0.5 miles away! laugh

I always thought mine was pretty good, but I got rid of my M140i some time ago and now only use Waze or Google Maps.

Mine is brilliant in my 240i, I have the active BMW connected drive subscription on mine, bugs me I have to pay about £69 a year for it but I use it daily and it cuts my commute down pretty well every day.

I had a few days end of last week where it had expired and it was pretty useless for avoiding traffic jams so I renewed. I know I can use Google or Waze but I like the integration in the car

I'm normally really impressed with mine. The accuracy of the red lines when I pull up to the back of a queue is quite spooky.

I do get the occasional closed road warning or rocks on road without any hazard but in general, I set the nav for my destination (even when on a regular route) and trust it to warn me.
