Hi all,

I'm looking at buying a new or nearly new 3 series touring, 320d sport.

A fully-specced model with SatNav is coming out at 35k for new, about 28k for old-style ex-demo (6 months old)

My assumption is that it's worth suffering the depreciation of a new model as in 2 yrs time it'll be a new-style used car, rather than an old-style used car.

Resdidual value on the PCP is about 4 grand more than the equivalent 6 month old car.

Am I mad to buy a new car (it's a personal purchase, not company), or am I making a sound financial judgement?

Any thoughts or advice very gratefully received.

Cheers

Pete

ye i know what you mean about the 2nd hand-new style and the 2nd hand-old style but how much would a brand new 3 series cost

35K for a 2 litre diesel estate ? How can you mention "sound", "financial" and "decision" in the same breath !

For £35K - leave the wife and kids at home and buy a 2 yr old E46 M3 , mind you , that will be an old model soon!

Exactly! If you want to apply those terms, then pick up a fully specced 320D or 330D Touring from '02 for 13K instead. 35K for a four cylinder, 2 litre diesel
