I have just bought a race prepared e30 320i and am looking for a good independant in the herts area to maintain it. Does anyone know of any. I am in St. Albans so am looking around a 10 mile radius.

You could try Leighton Hall Auto Services in Hemel Hempstead, the BMW specialist. Darren knows his business, and services and looks after everything from 2002s to e46 M3s. Reasonable prices and he won't pull a fast one.

Also don't try Classic Car and Restoration Services near Harpenden. Supposedly a 6-series specialist but I took my e28 to get them to do some bodywork and they filled it with glassfibre after I'd paid for 'new' sills. Complete and utter Tw@ts who didn't return any of my calls and were uncontactable for over 4 weeks !!!!!

Worst automotive experience ever.
