What happened to forum.bmw5.co.uk?
Discussion
Did you read the FB thread?
"Just a reminder that the forum will be offline until we've upgraded the software and migrated to a new host.
We've come across some technical challenges but working away trying to get the forum back online again.
I'll keep this post updated."
Gist is they've taken the forum offline while it gets upgraded, and they've knackered it. But are working to bring it back online, as of 6 days ago anyway.

Can they just put the old copy of the forum back online while they sort all the bugs out with the copy they're trying to upgrade? Kind of practice run so they know it can be done before actually doing it.
No; the hosting provider needed to be changed and that's where the issues have appeared IIRCd_a_n1979 said:
No; still the same...
Basically; when it's sorted, Tony or Sandip will get it up live and update on the Facebook page
There's nothing else that can be done to speed it up
Any update on the Facebook page? I'm not on facebook and there is only Sandips message from months ago (which says he will update the message but hasn't) at the top of the page. I can't scroll down as it blanks out rapidly.Basically; when it's sorted, Tony or Sandip will get it up live and update on the Facebook page

I don't have a Facebook account either but last I saw there was some note about having something up and running as a test but no idea if or how one would browse to it. Old domain still redirects to Facebook.
Bummer of a situation was a great forum. They all die eventually rovertech used to be good, bmwland, mg-rover org etc.

They've got all the data sorted and it's just being organised and then the forum will be back live
It'll be a whole new set up, so folk will have to re-register again
You're lucky you're not on the FB group; there's a lot of bhing & moaning on there and they're getting very sensitive about their poor little forum not being accessible to them...

BMWLand was a great forum; the owner passed away didn't they and no one had access to the background stuff Bummer of a situation was a great forum. They all die eventually rovertech used to be good, bmwland, mg-rover org etc.
Hadn't realised MG-Rover had gone; that was a great forum when I had my MG ZTs etc!
The 5 forums will soon be back up; I'll update here as soon as Tony gets it live again

Ya, plus facebook is a st platform for a forum anyway. As for the moaning, well, i can see both sides. I haven't moaned, it is what it is, and I wouldn't like to be in the admins shoes. On the flipside, people who paid subscriptions might not be so happy. Dunno, never pay subs for internet forums (partly for this reason).bmwmike said:
