Strange engine noise

on my 330, with just over 3000 revs, when you accelerate the engine sounds sort of rough - anyone experienced this or got any ideas why?

Swap it for a petrol :-)

VANOS kicks in just after 3k RPM

Warranty? Best take to the dealer, they can plug it in and do that suck-through-their-teeth thing when looking at the screen.

warranty expires in October - so dealer it is!

and for the record it is a Petrol - should have said really!
