Hi all, I've just done a lot of front and rear suspension work to my e36 318i saloon, and want to have it properly aligned. Even before the suspension work, the steering wheel was slightly crooked, and there was uneven tyre wear (though car tracks straight).

My question: do any fellow PHers know where I can go to get a full 4-wheel alignment done, BESIDES the dealer (they want almost £300 for two hours of labour, at Battersea London). A specialist perhaps? And how much can I expect to pay?

I'm willing to do a bit of driving to find a good place.

Many thanks - Greg

ProTyre in Slough did a top job for me and I think it was about £50(ish). I believe they have places around the UK so there might be one nearer to you.

It's all laser aligned stuff and you even get a screen to watch in the observation area so that you can see what they're doing, as they do it. You also get fully documented before and after stats too.

By default they'll set your car up according to the manufacturer's original recommended toe/camber/etc settings though. If you don't want 'standard' as a result of the suspension work you've had done, then you'll need to be able to tell them exactly what settings you do want instead.

Try Feltham Tyres, they are not too far away from you
