Thoughts on the 530d Sport Touring

I am looking at getting into an 02 model 530d sport Touring. It has about 40k on it but with full BMW service history, and 1 PO.
Do you guy's have any thoughts on this model, as this will be my first BM for quite some time!!
Anything i shouldlook out for, or any comments, be they good or bad.

Have only had mine (12/2001) for a few weeks, but coming from a MB C43 AMG (306 bhp), the BMW is not much slower in real traffic and does 12-13 km/l at 160 km/h. On top of that it is so much better put together than the Merc, and drives very well indeed.

Bought mine with 2 years Europlus warranty (BMW Select Plus), so great peace of mind.
