For exclusivity M Coupe.
For practicality M3
For outright performance M Coupe

The M coupe is faster then? Bit lighter i suppose.

Which is more "fun" to drive?

Depends what you are going to use it for?

Ask the question on www.z3mcoupe.com although you may get a slightly biased answer...

I think I'd rather have a nice carbon fibre bodied AC Schnitzer CLS.......

Nails both of those for performance and exclusivity!

Wonder who might be selling one of those?!!

What would i use it for? Purely recreational, no commuting, my fave roads are narrow, cresty, badly surfaced B roads, lots of 2nd/3rd gear stuff. It rains almost continuously up here so progressive wet handling on poor surfaces is rather essential if a large accident is to be avoided, hence i am somewhat suspicious of coupe trailing arms, for one of strictly average skill but above average enthusiasm? I've got an ancient 6 & find that quite controllable if far too boat like.

If i'm going a long journey i would/could use something else so more looking for yee-hah than comfy-bum.

What is a AC schnitzer CLS thingy? Is it fairly light?

thanks for your guidance chaps!

From the sound of those roads, the ZM Coupe is too fast for what you need. I sold mine partly because I was only ever able to use about 70% of it's potential on the roads I use (badly surface A's + B's)

The trailing arm isn't an issue on the ZM, but it does have quite a short wheelbase, meaning you have to be quick to catch it. Mind you, the S54 does have traction control...

LOL - to be honest I was discussing how my car didnt seem to handle as well as modern BMs only the other day.

Still, its a stonking car although the front does seem prone to stonechips (I mention this as I've the estimate on my desk for bumper, bonnet wing, tips for a cool £600.00)

I have been in both of these cars whilst they were racing each other and neither one was faster then the other. Pretty identical for performance I'd say.

As mentioned before get the M3 if you want practicality and the M Coupe for exclusivity. I think the M Coupe would have better residuals because of this too.

Yes, lighter and more powerful than the MCoupe or E46.. Incredible grip levels too and achingly easy to drive quickly!
