Hi,
New to the BMW world.
A mate is offering me a 318i on a N plate with 130k on the clock.
Can anyone advise on the timing chain / tensioner change interval??? Anyone got a haynes book of lies or a tech book??

cheers

If it is a cambelt engine [M40]with a distributor cap on the front of the head, the belt should be changed every Inspection 2 service or 4 years which ever is sooner, thats approx every 30,000 miles.
If it's the later [M43] engine with a coil pack on the drivers inner wing then this is chain drive and no service interval change is required.
