hi guys! i have a 1991 e36 325 saloon. over the last couple of months the windows have slowly got worse at closing when you ask them to, sometimes they work fine, sometimes you have to keep trying until they adventually close. anyway today after just getting into the multistory to meet the other half both the front windows and the sunroof would not close. i turned the car on and off, i got out, set the alarm, thern reset it, etc. i then had to get the other half to get a ticket whilst i waited and drove home. when i got home i checked all the fuses, fine, and detached the battery to see if it woulkd reset itself, nope! anyway now i have a car in the front with a car cover over it, with th windows and sunroof open over night. any ideas guys? many many thanks for an help, cheers!

Could be trouble with your door lock. I've just tried mine in the drive. Turn ignition on and off. Shut the door, and when you turn the the key to the left to lock, hold it in the 10 o'clock position. Windows and roof should close until you bring the key to the upright position. Other than that can't help!

How early is it? some models had a thermal fuse type switch either mounted in the centre console or under the steering wheel on the underdash trim, it pops out if the motors draw too much current and may need pushing in to reset.

Or get the multimeter out and start checking the wiring.
