Anyone got a working vin decoder?

I usually use bimmercat or mdecoder but both are not working just now.

Can anyone help?

Sorry, I should have been more specific.

I’m trying to get the spec list when built.

Appreciate the help.

bimmercat is working for me, I've sometimes seen it appear to not work when it's not happy with the vin (correctly or incorrectly).

That’s weird. I keep getting “Service Unavailable” with multiple different vin numbers.

Who knows what I’m doing wrong then😆

No, most of them don't seem to be working any more - unless it's for a car you have checked before.

I wonder what the issue is? Or are they trying to force us to sites where there is a fee maybe. frown

I've just tried the one I linked with a car I've never looked up before and it works fine for me.

Using mdecoder, I tried a previously not working vin and it worked. Will try others later on, but looks promising that it is fixed smile

Same here. I'm struggling with all the usual VIN decoders including those mentioned here.

Seems a site call CarVertical is calling the shots now and is linked to some of the old freebies.

I recognise the name.

Maybe I’ll send an email asking...

Got the same today.

If I put in a VIN I've looked up previously, seems to work.

Otherwise for new ones:

You have reached a daily limit for using decoder service.
Paid access will be implemented in few days.

I've bought 100 credits for MDecoder as i use it all the time, so as long as people dont take the piss i dont mind doing the odd VIN search thumbup
Costs me about 30p a go iirc.

Sorry for my late reply to this thread. I have been using a vin decoder for my new car. It's serving me well. Though this one is for free. I can easily check out license plate number using vinpit.com/license-plate-lookup Not bad though. smile
