Given that the value of my M3 has plummeted like a rock, making trade-in for something different a bit of a no-no, I've started thinking about perfomrance upgrades and I found this little beauty...

Sounds like a good idea to me - thoughts anyone?

I saw a turbo kit on Alibaba.com for the M3, for about a third of the price of the one you've noted.

Gotta be worth a look, I'll see if I can root out the link.

How about a nos kit?

I have been considering getting one for my 95 m3, but on running a search on the bmw forum saw a post stating that BMW engines dont take kindly to nos.

Any thoughts on this?

The above link has some info on turbo charger and supercharger kits - theres a video of a turboed m3 on there as well (somewhere!). This company also have an m3 with a 150bhp nos kit on - might try and arrange a visit next time im in chesterfield!

I checked out the prices of the component parts - they're charging one helluva mark-up!!! The supercharger itself can be had for around £1400, the other bits are only gonna come to another £1k or so (if that).

I don't mind paying someone back for the cost of R&D, investment in technology, but the only difficult thing in this (for me at least) is altering the ignition/fueling - the rest is just big meccano stuff..

Now, where's me drawing board ........
